Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple paving and grading projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and quality control
  • Oversee project planning, design, construction, and closeout phases
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and government agencies (Caltrans)
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
  • Ensure compliance with Caltrans standards, regulations, and permitting requirements
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure project deliverables meet expectations
  • Analyze project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or Construction Management (BSCM)
  • At least 10 years of experience working for a contractor, managing public works projects
  • Proven experience with Caltrans projects, standards, and regulations
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with paving and grading projects
  • Knowledge of construction management software and technologies
  • Certification in project management (PMP, CCM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with local and state regulations, permitting requirements, and industry standards
