Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Physician-Family Medicine/Internal Medicine/Pediatrics to join our team at the County of San Mateo, CA. As a Staff Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our patients, working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes, and contributing to the development and implementation of our healthcare programs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical and physical examinations, make diagnoses, and prescribe treatment plans.
- Provide therapy and rehabilitation programs to patients.
- Coordinate the work of consulting medical specialists and act as a physician member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Train and supervise interns and residents, and provide clinical supervision to licensed and professional staff.
- Maintain accurate records of patient diagnoses, treatment, and prognosis, and document in Electronic Medical Records (EMRs).
- Develop comprehensive case histories and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California.
- Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, or a related area is highly desirable.
- Spanish speaking is strongly preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current developments, trends, and research in the medical field.
- Basic understanding of clinical supervisory principles and practices.
- Pharmacology and psychopharmacology, including laws regarding informed consent, dosage ranges, drug incompatibilities, and side effects.
- Proper documentation of clinical services.
- Principles, practices, and techniques of general medicine and its application.
- Medical diagnosis and treatment.
- Hospitals and Clinics organization.
- Knowledge of communicable disease control.
- Knowledge of public health practices and procedures.
