Employment Type: Full Time

Shift: Afternoon (2:30pm - 11:00pm)

The Gilbert Residence is dedicated to providing outstanding support to seniors in our community. With a commitment to excellence, we serve 90 residents across our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Nursing Care facilities.

Our goal is to uphold a legacy of compassionate and respectful care for the elderly population we serve.

The Healthcare Technician plays a vital role in delivering direct, primary care to residents while overseeing the care provided by resident assistants during their assigned shift. This position requires collaboration with department managers to ensure the efficient operation of the Assisted Living and Memory Care units.

Workplace Policy: The Gilbert Residence maintains a smoke-free environment. The use of tobacco products is strictly prohibited on all premises. A drug screening and physical examination are prerequisites for employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate resident care
  • Accurately document resident activities in a timely manner
  • Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents
  • Conduct rounds with physicians and other team members as necessary
  • Engage in the development, implementation, and revision of resident service plans
  • Facilitate communication and coordination of care with residents and their families
  • Administer treatments and provide direct care as required
  • Prepare and dispense medications as prescribed
  • Order or arrange for the procurement of pharmaceuticals
  • Collect specimens as directed
  • Promote a positive perception of long-term care
  • Safeguard the privacy of residents
  • Provide education and guidance to resident families and staff as needed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (preferred)
  • Minimum of one year of experience in medication administration
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Familiarity with medications and therapeutic practices
  • Positive demeanor
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Availability to work every other weekend
