Job Summary

The Equipment Superintendent is a critical role responsible for the onsite management of Zachry Construction Corporation's equipment fleet. This position requires a strong leader who can ensure a safe work environment, maintain equipment in good working condition, and manage costs effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees by following all policies, procedures, and regulations related to safety.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition at the lowest cost possible by using good judgment when purchasing parts and services.
  • Manage outside vendors as if they were our employees by using estimates to help manage costs and returning unused or unneeded parts to the vendor.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the maintenance backlog by ensuring completeness and accuracy of descriptions of maintenance and repair work required.
  • Train subordinates in safe, efficient, and quality methods of completing duties and ensure maintenance staff has the proper training to comply with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience related to maintaining heavy equipment.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Computer skills and software knowledge.
  • Ability to manage people.
