The Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join its team in the Vascular Surgery department.

This role involves providing high-quality patient care to individuals with vascular diseases and other surgical conditions. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will be responsible for implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and collaborating with the nursing team to create individualized care plans.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Med-Surg or Progressive Care and possess excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills. A minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience is required, along with a current NYS Registered Nurse license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

The Clinical Nurse II at Albany Medical Center works in a fast-paced environment, caring for patients with acute or chronic illnesses, including those in hypercoagulable states. The team focuses on creating a compassionate and caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues through displays of kindness and active listening.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
  • Assessing and evaluating patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered
  • Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
  • Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
