The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting the pharmacists in our clinic, ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with patient and department order processing, inventory control, drug purchasing, and sterile/non-sterile compounding, all while adhering to clinic policies, procedures, and USP guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists with routine duties, including patient and department order processing, inventory control, and drug purchasing.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and USP guidelines for sterile and non-sterile compounding.
- Follow up on drug shortages, backorders, and recalls, and perform bookkeeping and/or clerical duties as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with patients, staff, and vendors.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
- Experience in a hospital, sterile, or non-sterile compounding setting, or other institutional environment.
- Ability to multitask, remain organized, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with email, Excel, and Word.
The Pharmacy Technician must be able to move, traverse, position themselves, and remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours per day. They must also be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, and have adequate visual acuity to read small numbers and letters.
