Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general custodial duties, including cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Empty and clean wastebaskets, trash containers, and cigarette urns.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
  • Assist with the setup for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
  • Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
  • Wash accessible interior and exterior windows and clean blinds.

Requirements
  • Ability to utilize a wide array of custodial chemicals and general cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to safely operate custodial equipment, including vacuum, backpack vacuum, and cardboard bailer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
  • Computer literacy to use business software and the Internet.
  • Human relations skills to build effective working relationships.
Work Environment

Work is performed in an office environment or at a customer's location, such as a commissary environment, a federal courthouse, or a military base. Employees may be exposed to toxic chemicals, noise from equipment in maintenance environments, and depending on indoor and outdoor conditions, exposure to cold or heat.
