Endoscopy Technician

Job Summary:

As an Endoscopy Technician at SCA Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during endoscopy procedures. Your responsibilities will include protecting patients from injury, demonstrating safe operation of equipment, and promoting a safe environment. You will also be responsible for handling specimens, adhering to standard precautions, and performing interventions to maintain patient wound and tissue perfusion. Additionally, you will provide age-specific, culturally competent, and ethical care within legal standards of practice. Key Responsibilities:

• Protect patients from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
• Speak up with safety concerns acting as the patient's advocate.
• Handle specimens according to facility policy and procedures.
• Adhere to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Perform interventions to maintain the patient's wound and tissue perfusion at or above baseline levels.
• Perform interventions to protect the patient from infection.
• Protect the patient's rights, dignity, and privacy.
• Provide age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
• Comply with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time-out policy.
• Assemble supplies and equipment required for the procedure.
• Prepare and organize sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
• Provide instruments and supplies to the endoscopist during the procedure.
• Maintain an organized sterile field.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Prior Experience as a GI Tech preferred.
• Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification.

Compensation:

Minimum: USD $16.00/Hr.
Maximum: USD $27.00/Hr.
