This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Medical Technologist (MLT) in the General Laboratory at KA Recruiting Inc.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing accurate and timely laboratory testing, assuming departmental responsibilities, and maintaining high standards of quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical testing on proficiency samples according to instructions and complete within the allowable time frame.
- Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor.
- Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results.
- Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
- Demonstrate good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results.
- Review pending logs and resolve any outstanding workload or communicate to staff relief.
- Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results.
Requirements
A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required for this position. A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred. ASCP certification (or equivalent) is preferred OR the ability to obtain a license during the first 6 months of employment.
