Job Title: Part-Time Youth Mentor

About the Role:

The Part-Time Youth Mentor will provide direct supervision and support to adolescent boys in a short-term transitional living program. The ideal candidate will cultivate a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of each participant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the physical safety of youth and provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Conduct routine counts and bed checks to ensure youth are present and safe
  • Maintain a professional relationship with youth, adhering to proper physical boundaries
  • Plan and lead organized daily activities and facilitate groups
  • Conduct therapeutic programming, including Restorative Justice Practices and DBT-Lite
  • Interpret program to youth and family
  • Complete all written reports as assigned
  • Provide transportation to clients and families as needed
  • Maintain Administration of Medication Certification
  • Reinforce and role model youth's individual needs plan
  • Attend regular and consistent attendance

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED and experience working with at-risk or court-involved youth
  • Valid driver's license
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
