About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legislative Affairs Manager to join our dynamic team at JTI USA. As a key member of our Corporate Affairs and Communications function, you will play a critical role in monitoring and tracking legislative and regulatory proposals that impact our business.

Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and assess regulatory proposals and amendments, providing timely insights into their potential impact on our operations. You will work closely with our Federal and State Government Affairs Managers to develop impactful advocacy materials, identify key stakeholders, and effectively communicate our positions to those stakeholders.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be a proactive and results-driven individual who is passionate about public policy and government affairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze local, state, and federal legislative developments that may impact our business, providing timely awareness of any changes that may affect our operations.
  • Assess regulatory proposals and amendments, providing insight into their potential impact on our organization.
  • Work closely with our Government Affairs Managers to develop impactful advocacy materials, identify key stakeholders, and effectively communicate our positions to those stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external corporate communications and stakeholder engagement for the JTI USA business across the United States.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 4+ years' work experience in a public or private sector government affairs, public affairs/research role, communications or a related field.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both oral and written.
