Job Title: Electrical Hardware Reliability Engineer

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with our cutting-edge technology. As an Electrical Hardware Reliability Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability of our avionics systems.

As a member of our Build Reliability team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate reliability risks. You'll use data-driven approaches to understand the factors that drive reliability and develop strategies to improve it.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with electrical design engineering and avionics manufacturing teams to improve product reliability
  • Support new product development by prototyping early development hardware
  • Identify opportunities for risk reduction and removal of complexity in designs and processes
  • Lead initiatives for risk reduction and removal of complexity in designs and processes
  • Monitor the yield rate of products and drive corrective action
  • Contain suspect or known non-conforming product
  • Support the shop floor in continuous improvement
  • Serve as technical expert in avionics processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years in a PCBA manufacturing and/or avionics design role
  • 3+ years of experience with electrical test equipment

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or an engineering discipline
  • 8+ years of industry experience working with electronic hardware
  • Electrical schematic and PCB design software
  • Circuit simulation software
  • Ability to troubleshoot PCBA level failures
  • PCBA Fabrication experience
  • Demonstrated application of process controls in high volume manufacturing

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and offsite as needed

Compensation and Benefits:

Base salary: $125,000 - $175,000 per year

Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year
