Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Stepdown team at Mercy. As a Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a highly acute and critical care setting, utilizing your critical thinking skills to provide exceptional patient care.

Unit Overview

Our Cardiac Stepdown Units offer a unique and challenging environment, with three units that encompass Cardiac Progressive Care, Medical Progressive Care, and Telemetry. Our patients require closer monitoring and are too sick for a General Med Tele Floor, but not quite sick enough for an ICU. You will have the opportunity to work with patients who are admitted from the Emergency Department, with conditions such as congestive heart failure, chest pain, high oxygen needs, post-cath lab procedure monitoring, and cardiac surgical overflow.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to make sound clinical decisions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Monitor and manage patients' conditions, including cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, and medication administration
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
  • Current RN licensure in the hiring state and/or compact licensure
  • Prolonged standing and walking required
