JOB SUMMARY:

This role is crucial for supporting software developers in the testing of software and hardware products, as well as validating customer use cases and requirements.

This position adheres to Alarm's Code of Ethics and Business Standards. The Software QA Engineer will operate from our headquarters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Agile QA for bugs and stories completed by the development team.
  • Collaborate with support and product management to diagnose and report customer issues.
  • Engage in Agile sprint planning and execution.
  • Create and execute test plans based on software acceptance criteria.
  • Work with project team members to identify and qualify customer use cases/environments.
  • Oversee testing of major feature developments, including coordination with junior testers.
  • Evaluate software and firmware applications for deviations from existing test plans.
  • Recommend updates, fixes, and enhancements to existing test plans as necessary to ensure precision.
  • Configure and monitor long-term and integration tests.
  • Assist and mentor junior Software QA Specialists.
  • Collaborate with QA management to uphold SQA best practices in daily operations.
  • Perform all other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To be successful in this position, an individual must meet the following minimum qualifications, which represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Familiarity with web applications and terminology.

Working Knowledge of:

  • Basic computer hardware, including monitor, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Windows, Linux, and mobile operating systems.
  • Computer hardware components and networking terminology.
  • Internet and web applications.
