POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Penn State College of Medicine, you play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care.
Guided by principles of respect, integrity, teamwork, and excellence, you will be empowered to significantly impact the health and well-being of our patients.
We are dedicated to supporting skilled LPNs in enhancing their expertise and achieving their professional aspirations while providing comprehensive patient care, which includes:
- Accurately monitoring vital signs
- Discussing health concerns with patients
- Conducting tests and administering injections
- Assisting with medical procedures and maintaining documentation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment or possess a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to the completion of orientation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One (1) year of experience in an acute or outpatient care environment is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand and sit continuously; frequent walking.
Capability to lift/carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to push/pull 0-20 lbs. frequently; 21-75 lbs. occasionally.
Occasional climbing and constant reaching are required.
Must be able to use hands for simple and firm grasping.
