Institutional Profile:
Located in the vibrant city of Temple, Texas, our academic department is home to an Emergency Medicine residency program with a rich history. We proudly support 42 Emergency Medicine residents and 36 faculty members across two Emergency Departments.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple serves as our primary facility, featuring a 48-bed Emergency Department, recognized as a Level 1 Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center, with a total of 640 inpatient beds and an 81-bed ICU. The Emergency Department experiences an annual patient volume of approximately 80,000 visits.
Additionally, Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center operates a 20-bed Emergency Department, classified as a Level II Trauma Center for pediatric patients, with an annual visit count of 35,000. Our faculty, including both Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine specialists, provide comprehensive supervision for residents in this facility.
