Job Summary

Dead River Company is seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our team in the Treasury and Accounting department. As a Tax Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit tax filings, including sales and excise tax returns, on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Provide guidance and support to market staff and other internal parties on tax-related matters, including exemption certificates and legislative updates.
  • Review and analyze tax records and information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and maintain tax records, including schedules, estimates, and extensions.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvements as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or tax environment.
  • Strong investigative technique, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of tax and accounting concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use good judgment in making decisions.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Working knowledge of GL accounting software, such as Sage Intacct.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Education and Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Work Environment

This position is performed in an office setting with controlled temperature and lighting. Infrequent travel may be required.
