About the Role

Trimble is seeking an Embedded Systems Validation Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA. As a leader in high-performance embedded GPS navigation solutions for aviation, our technology is integral to inertial navigation systems. The Validation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing efficient methods for qualification verification testing of these advanced systems in cutting-edge GPS testing environments. This role encompasses the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through to decommissioning, including proposal development, design validation, engineering modifications, resolution of manufacturing issues, quality assurance, and the formulation of outsourced testing requirements.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop requirements-driven testing and diagnostic programs, create test plans, procedures, fixtures, and equipment. Implement automation for testing processes, scenarios, equipment, and data analysis. Conduct formal periodic reviews of testing.
  • Evaluate system performance under various operational scenarios to enhance testing efficiency and product effectiveness.
  • Oversee the design, development, integration, and deployment of testing stations and methodologies. Define and execute training and support activities necessary for the successful management of verification programs.
  • Document testing methodologies, requirements, plans, procedures, and outcomes. Create, maintain, and manage test documentation while ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Generate and distribute product qualification test reports.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of four years of relevant post-graduate experience.
  • Proven experience in creating and documenting formal test plans, procedures, cases, and reports aligned with functional and performance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with signal generators, simulators, and measurement tools such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience in test automation utilizing scripting languages like Python and custom testing setups.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, organization, processing, and reporting using Excel and custom programming.
  • A strong track record of meticulous documentation, record-keeping, formal configuration management, and effective collaboration and communication skills.

Note: Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is required. Applicants must clearly indicate citizenship and any previous DoD security clearance activity.
