Job Overview

The primary role of the Procurement Specialist I is to maintain an efficient inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for both routine and emergency operations within the healthcare facility. This position is essential in generating purchase requisitions and orders for goods and services promptly as required by various departments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and secure goods for the central supply inventory, ensuring that all supplies requisitions from departments are processed accurately.
  2. Review incoming deliveries for accuracy and condition, acting as a liaison between departments and service representatives.
  3. Maintain computerized inventory records, including tracking and recording data on inventory costs and supply levels to ensure a cost-effective inventory system.
  4. Restock shelves and manage the organization of supplies to support quality patient care.
  5. Research and identify potential new vendors that may qualify to supply materials for the healthcare facility.
  6. Provide exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to meet the needs of hospital staff and physicians.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: A minimum of four years in the ordering, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment, with at least two years of experience as a purchasing agent or buyer.

Skills: Ability to assess the quantity of supplies needed for inventory and order accordingly. Strong cooperative skills to work effectively with hospital staff and physicians. Capability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Licenses & Certifications: A current and valid driver's license is required.
