Job Overview

Position Summary: The primary role involves setting up and managing the HP Digital Press. Responsibilities include preparing for preflight, making color adjustments, and overseeing the production of all digitally printed materials. The operator will conduct visual and specification quality checks on each job and consistently monitor quality and press conditions. Maintaining press efficiency while minimizing waste is crucial. The operator will also perform maintenance on the digital press and manage supply requisitions, adhering to all safety and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up jobs according to job tickets and product specifications, including pre-flighting files and making necessary color adjustments.
  • Complete job start-up and quality sign-off, ensuring all specifications and visual checks are met.
  • Operate the digital press to produce products that meet customer specifications while minimizing waste and maintaining efficiency.
  • Order all necessary supplies for operating the digital press and producing high-quality digital labels, including inks, coatings, and machine parts.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the press and associated equipment.
  • Oversee the preventative maintenance program, coordinating with local service professionals as needed and completing maintenance requests for repairs.
  • Follow all safety protocols for material handling and machine operation.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment.
  • Report any safety hazards to the supervisor or safety team.
  • Engage in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience operating a digital press or a minimum of 2 years in web or offset printing is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various communications to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations are necessary.
  • Ability to interpret diverse instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
  • Capable of identifying root causes of issues and determining corrective actions.
  • Proficient understanding of production materials, quality methods, and color standards is necessary.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of prepress/preflight processes are preferred.
  • Able to stand and walk frequently, with the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Shift Availability: Various shifts are available.
