Job Summary:
N2S Healthcare Staffing Solutions, LLC is seeking a skilled Traveling Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assisting in various invasive angio and interventional procedures performed in the Interventional Radiology Suite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and organization of surgical scrub and circulation duties for total patient care during and after procedures.
- Monitor patients in the Interventional Radiology area and provide necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
- Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician.
- Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for the procedure.
- Obtain medications, radio pharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
- Circulate during procedures and maintain responsibility for patient comfort.
- Provide necessary supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
- Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
- Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges promptly and accurately.
- Enter patient data and inventory into WITT program and send films for review.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking while wearing 10 to 15 pound lead radiation protection aprons.
- Exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood.
- Confined working area.
- Normal vision, manual dexterity, and good eye and hand coordination necessary to operate equipment.
- Constant concentration required during procedures.
