Position Summary

The Dispatcher plays a crucial role within the Deliveries team, tasked with overseeing communication among drivers, accounts receivable personnel, and customer service representatives to facilitate efficient delivery operations throughout IGF's Mid-Atlantic territory.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely dispatch of all drivers, adhering to region-specific schedules.
  • Utilize IGF's dispatch software, Route 4 Me & Geotab, to monitor deliveries and provide status updates as required.
  • Act as the primary contact for drivers, addressing any delivery-related issues with relevant stakeholders, including customers and team members.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to verify and resolve discrepancies such as mis-picks and shortages.
  • Coordinate secondary service deliveries by working with the Delivery Coordinator to ensure truck availability and timely order processing.
  • Manage the return process for deliveries from Southern Virginia routes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team.

Required Qualifications
  • Proactive and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and data-entry capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining professional relationships across various teams and clients.
  • Ability to analyze information logically to resolve work-related challenges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Dynamics, Excel, and Word, along with general tech skills.
  • Valid driving record with the capability to obtain a DOT certification if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a dispatch role.
  • Familiarity with Dispatch Track or similar dispatch software.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to generate creative solutions to operational challenges.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 55 lbs, bend, stretch, and climb as needed.
  • Willingness to stand and walk for prolonged durations.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (dry, refrigerated, frozen).
  • Requires the use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, and voice in daily tasks.
