Job Description:

CDM Smith is seeking a skilled Roadway and Bridge Construction Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our Construction Engineering and Inspection group, you will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring construction activities at various field site locations in Raleigh.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and standardized inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
  • Determine the acceptability of daily work performed by the contractor.
  • Review and recommend the acceptance or rejection of daily reports submitted by the contractor.
  • Perform inspection of the contractor's quality control procedures and material testing.
  • Verify that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures.
  • Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract.
  • Measure quantities of materials placed.
  • May be required to perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 0 years of experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
