Key Responsibilities- Interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, ensuring accurate and clear communication.
- Work effectively in a team environment, receiving support from and providing support to colleagues.
- Adhere to Sorenson's policies and procedures, as well as the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues.
- Enhance interpreting skills through ongoing education and training.
- Maintain compliance with national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements.
- Work a flexible schedule to meet the diverse interpreting needs of the community.
- Represent Sorenson Communications with professionalism and integrity when interacting with customers in the field.
- Collaborate with intern students or provide mentoring when assigned.
- Be punctual and prepared for each interpreting engagement.
- Be flexible with assignment changes.
- Utilize technology for accurate reporting, scheduling, and service evaluation.
- Ability to pass Sorenson's required skills assessment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree (preferred but not required).
- Interpreter certification.
- Three years' experience working as an interpreter (preferred).
- Ability to travel independently in the metropolitan area, with access to a vehicle, valid driver's license, and minimum state-required vehicle insurance.
