We are currently looking for a full-time, exempt Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our team. In this role, you will engage in civil engineering projects for both public sector clients and private sector developments. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Designers and Professional Engineers to produce civil engineering drawings under the guidance of Project Managers, while acquiring the necessary skills to advance in your career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine and interpret survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial imagery, and other topographical or geological data to facilitate project planning.
  • Design and develop transportation or hydraulic systems and structures, adhering to construction and governmental standards utilizing design software.
  • Evaluate and create designs for stormwater management, sewer systems, pipelines, parking facilities, sidewalks, roadways, and more using specialized design software.
  • Prepare site grading and utility plans, coordinating with municipal entities. Conduct hydraulic calculations and generate construction documents for permitting processes.
  • Calculate load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to establish design specifications.
  • Communicate project progress with the Project Manager, clients, and other relevant stakeholders, including the preparation of reports, data, and project activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 2-3 years of experience in civil project design, including commercial, industrial, retail, educational, municipal, roadway, and utility projects.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:

This position primarily involves sedentary work with extended periods of sitting, though occasional walking and lifting of up to 25 lbs may be required. Tasks may also include bending, squatting, and reaching overhead. Daily extensive computer usage is a necessity.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, exempt position, with an expectation of 40 hours of work per week. Overtime may be necessary at times to meet project deadlines. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling options available.
