Qualifications Required
  1. A master's degree in nursing is mandatory; a doctorate in nursing or a related field is preferred.
  2. Three to five years of full-time teaching experience in an accredited nursing program is desirable.
  3. An active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or a multi-state license is required.
  4. Two years of full-time or equivalent clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing is necessary.
  5. Evidence of competency in teaching, curriculum development, program evaluation, and professional service is preferred.
  6. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support CCU's mission by contributing to student transformation through teaching, advising, and collaboration.
  2. Develop, implement, and assess the nursing education program's mission and goals.
  3. Engage in all aspects of program and curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation.
  4. Teach 24 credits annually, integrating biblical principles throughout the curriculum.
  5. Assess student learning outcomes in theory, simulation, and clinical competencies.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate program effectiveness and quality improvement initiatives.
  7. Participate in university activities and committee work within the Nursing Faculty Organization.
  8. Advise students on academic and career planning, as well as spiritual development.
  9. Engage in scholarship and service to the university, profession, and community.
  10. Maintain clinical competency in the specialty area as defined by Faculty Outcomes.
  11. Establish and maintain productive relationships with clinical agencies and partners.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this role, the faculty member may need to walk, stand, sit, reach, balance, stoop, and communicate clearly. The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally is required. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, is expected. Travel may be necessary for local, statewide, and national engagements. Extended periods at a computer workstation may be involved. Faculty responsibilities often require additional hours during the week, including evenings and weekends. Participation in campus activities throughout the year is encouraged.
