Materials Buyer Planner

We are seeking an experienced Materials Buyer Planner to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for planning and executing the procurement of materials for our Norman, OK plant.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a robust project plan for new product introductions, ensuring timely delivery of materials and minimizing obsolete inventory.
- Monitor and track inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels and reducing waste.
- Coordinate with engineering, materials, and manufacturing teams to strategically utilize materials marked for obsolescence.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing and delivery terms, ensuring cost competitiveness.
- Manage consignment programs and purchasing agreements for commodity items.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, production schedulers, quality, and engineering.
- Operate within budget and contribute to the overall need for cost competitiveness.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and 3 years of directly applicable experience.
- SAP experience.
- Experience with managing suppliers.
- High volume/high mix manufacturing experience.
- APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification.
- Experience with inventory forecasting, developing supplier schedules, and reducing scheduling variances.
