We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Inpatient Neurology team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient preferences.
- Conduct thorough assessments, including physical examinations and psychosocial evaluations, to inform care decisions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory and radiological studies, to guide treatment.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with New York State law and NYU Langone Health policies.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, consulting physicians, and other disciplines to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of clinical standards and protocols.
- Stay current with advances in neurology and nursing practice, applying knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
- Master's Degree in Nursing, with Acute or Family Board Certification required.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of patients with neurological conditions.
- Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion, addressing patient/family safety and satisfaction.
- Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient neurology setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Effective change agent, with ability to facilitate group processes and promote positive change.
- Membership in professional specialty organizations, such as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners or the American Neurological Association.
