Job Summary

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and promoting a culture of excellence in our Rapid Response team.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the health status of patients through comprehensive health histories, physical exams, and data analysis to formulate appropriate diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement prioritized, comprehensive plans of care to manage patients' health problems and promote health maintenance.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
  • Implement interventions identified in the interdisciplinary plan of care, including therapeutic interventions, patient education, and health care referrals.
  • Evaluate and document patient progress toward expected outcomes, utilizing interdisciplinary collaboration and multiple sources of data.
  • Act as a patient and family advocate to ensure healthcare services are delivered in an ethical and culturally sensitive manner.
Requirements
  • Registered nurse licensure to practice in the state of Michigan.
  • Master's degree in nursing (i.e., a clinical-based degree).
  • Two years of clinical experience as a professional nurse.
  • National certification in advanced practice nursing specialty is required, where available, within 6 months of employment.
