Electrical Estimator

At B&D Industries, we're seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you'll play a crucial role in accurately forecasting project costs, sizes, and durations. Your expertise in reading, math, and strategic planning will be essential in developing cost information that informs our decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all plan and specification estimating activities to maximize company profitability
- Validate pricing for negotiated work and change proposals
- Collaborate with the Sr. Estimator and Operations Manager to meet strategic and operational goals
- Develop methods to supply data and information to other departments
- Ensure accurate scope coverage and bid leveling through reviewing subcontractor/vendor selection and scopes with Area Managers
- Assist in contract negotiation and change proposal development
- Build relationships with preconstruction staff and decision makers of current and prospective customers
- Consult with Operations/BD Manager and Sr. VP on job selection
- Review specifications, scopes, and vendor/subcontractor proposals
- Communicate with Business Development and Area Managers during the bidding phase
- Update estimating software with changes to material and labor factors
- Communicate potential unknown variables to management
- Review estimates for potential jobs and prepare change orders and cost estimates
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering
- Relevant work experience may substitute for the degree
