About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Treasury Specialist to join our Financial Operations team at Brookfield Properties. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the company's financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate daily wires for earnest money deposits and closing amounts for the purchase of one-by-one acquisitions
  • Process returned bank account items and distribute them to other departments, as needed
  • Process miscellaneous deposit items for corporate and fund-related bank accounts
  • Facilitate the growth of banking relationships in conjunction with the Treasury Team
  • Assist with the opening/closing of accounts and management of the accounts within each banking platform
  • Support the treasury team in organizing and implementing policies and procedures for treasury functions, including wire processing, account requests, statements, and transfers
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures of cash management activities
  • Contribute to the development of Treasury policies, procedures, and operational controls
  • Manage and facilitate the relationship with CoreLogic and Ryan Tax for real estate tax tracking and payments, ensuring timely payments and handling delinquencies with care
  • Support ad hoc requests and special projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, management, or finance
  • Prior treasury experience a plus, but not required
  • Attention to detail to efficiently allocate resources and achieve thoroughness and accuracy
  • Analytical skills, including critical thinking, data analysis, research, and communication to identify and solve complex problems
  • Organization skills to maintain an orderly workspace, meet deadlines, and communicate well with others
  • Able to work independently and think through problems with a creative solution approach
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel to solve common and unusual work problems
