Position: Quality Assurance Software Technician

The Quality Assurance Software Technician plays a crucial role in the evaluation and testing of new Land Mobile Radio (LMR) infrastructure software products, along with enhancements to existing offerings. This position involves testing and validating product modifications with guidance, conducting analyses, and developing test plans that align with specified requirements. The technician will also assist in assessing and exploring new software and product testing technologies, contribute to the design and establishment of innovative automated testing frameworks to minimize reliance on manual testing, and support the transition to these methodologies. Effective communication and coordination with internal departments and clients are essential, providing constructive feedback and timely insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a software testing laboratory equipped with PCs, radios, service monitors, and related apparatus.
  • Implement manual testing protocols, document, and report outcomes.
  • Manage Subscriber devices necessary for infrastructure testing.
  • Record findings, compile test results, and generate comprehensive reports.
  • Demonstrate reliability and adhere to attendance standards.
  • Exhibit professional conduct, including leadership, urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, and integrity, fostering a cohesive and productive environment aimed at achieving corporate objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a two-year technical program in electronics, military communications training, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Familiarity with land mobile radio system configurations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to interpret electronic circuit diagrams, flow charts, and schematics is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in common personal computer applications.
  • Capability to lift equipment weighing between 40-70 pounds.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision required.
