Transportation Specialist

Washington Adventist University is seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a bus in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all traffic regulations and transportation policies.
Assist passengers by loading and unloading baggage, aiding in boarding and de-boarding the bus, and ensuring the overhead racks are loaded safely.
Regulate the heating, lighting, and ventilating systems to maintain passenger comfort and order at all times.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, file necessary paperwork, and make repairs as needed.
Maintain communication with the Transportation department, providing route and schedule information, and reporting delays or accidents.
Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Degree
Two years minimum OTR driving experience on similar type vehicle
Current Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement and current medical and drug card.
Working Conditions
The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional exposure to stressful conditions. The employee will frequently be called upon to work long hours and may be away from home on frequent overnight/weekend trips.
