Job Overview:
We are collaborating with a reputable organization that supports various sectors including Defense, Intelligence, and Civil space initiatives. We are in search of a skilled Assembly Technician to enhance our client's workforce.
Role Responsibilities:
As an Assembly Technician, your primary duties will include the assembly of electro-mechanical products following precise engineering guidelines, technical documentation, and training protocols. You will also engage in wiring harness and cable assembly, ensuring continuity checks are performed on final products. Flexibility to undertake additional tasks as required is essential.
Key Duties:
- Assemble electro-mechanical products adhering to engineering specifications and technical manuals.
- Execute tasks following written instructions to maintain consistency and repeatability.
- Conduct wiring harness and cable assembly, including performing continuity checks on finished products.
- Apply technical standards such as J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 to ensure compliance of manufactured hardware.
- Utilize small hand tools, calibrated equipment, soldering/desoldering tools, and meters effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed in accordance with documentation standards.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Adhere to established processes and procedures for the proper handling of materials.
- Be prepared to perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in electronics or cable assemblies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with circuit board soldering and desoldering techniques is preferred.
- Experience with masking, conformal coating, connector potting, component staking, or bonding is a plus.
- Must demonstrate responsibility, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and a dedication to quality workmanship are essential.
- Ability to work dependably within a team to achieve common objectives.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and maintain a standing or sitting position for extended periods.
Repetitive Motion:
Frequent operation of a computer and other office machinery.
Visual Requirements:
Adequate visual acuity necessary for preparing or inspecting documents and products. Must also meet visual standards as per J-STD-001, including near vision and color vision assessments.
Work Environment:
- ESD production setting with potential exposure to machine noise; hearing protection may be necessary.
- Overtime may be required to meet operational demands.
- Primarily based in Chantilly with occasional flexibility to work in Fairfax.
