ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the EP Lab Clinical Coordinator and the direction of a cardiologist, the EP Technologist performs three key roles:
- Setting up and operating specialized equipment, including a physiological data recording system and related computers, programmable stimulators, mapping system, and various generators for ablation procedures.
- Assisting Cardiac Electrophysiologists in the performance of EP Lab procedures by analyzing electrocardiograph data, performing program stimulation of the heart, inducing and terminating cardiac arrhythmia, and applying energy to catheters for purposes of arrhythmia ablation.
- Assisting Cardiac Electrophysiologists and Cardiologists in the performance of invasive procedures related to intra-cardiac defibrillators and pacemakers, setting up sterile tables, and assisting in the application of sterile drapes.
May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles, or syringes from storage locations to patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.
QualificationsExperience in the following:
- 1 year previous experience as an EP or Cath Lab Tech
Licensure:
- BLS-CPR
- ACLS
- RCES, Registered EP Specialist
Pay Range: $71.82/hour
