Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

At A.V.C.H., Inc., we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity.

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this job position is to provide routine daily nursing care and services to our residents, in accordance with their individualized care plans and as directed by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained.
  • Follow work assignments and schedules to complete and perform assigned tasks.
  • Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.
  • Treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect, observing confidentiality and privacy.
  • Follow established safety procedures in the performance of all duties.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, positioning, transferring, and locomotion, as per established procedures and individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and record bowel movements, vital signs, weights, and other relevant information.
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
  • Check residents routinely to ensure their personal care needs are being met in accordance with their individualized care plans and wishes.
  • Report all changes in a resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as possible.
  • Collect specimens as instructed.
  • Prepare residents and assist with transport as necessary for appointments, therapy, lab work, X-ray, social programs, and other activities.
  • Follow established infection control measures, including hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Inventory and mark residents' personal possessions as instructed.
  • Coordinate with inter-departmental personnel and other facility personnel as instructed to ensure nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of our residents.
  • Ensure notes reflect that individualized care plans are being followed.
  • Ensure assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Report all hazardous conditions, occupational exposures, safety violations, suspected abuse, complaints, grievances, and other relevant information.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes to maintain current certification as a Nursing Assistant.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate for this state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:

This position requires the ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, and perform fine-hand coordination, as well as the ability to communicate with residents, distinguish smells and temperatures, read and write, and remain calm under emergency situations while dealing with multiple tasks.

Schedule:

Full-time position, 3pm-11pm shift.
