Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Care Assistant to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve meals to residents, ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Clean and maintain the dining room and kitchen areas, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Complete water passes to residents, ensuring their hydration needs are met.
  • Distribute linens and set tables prior to meals, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Feed residents as assigned, providing personalized care and attention.
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties, including mopping, sweeping, dusting, and vacuuming, to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Assist residents with their daily needs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
  • Collaborate with other care team members to ensure seamless care delivery and resident satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Certifications required, or required to obtain within the first 90 days of employment:
    • Medication Administration
    • Standard Precautions
    • First Aid & Choking
    • Fire Safety
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving patients.
  • Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Occasional driving.
