Position Overview:

The Carlisle Group is conducting a search for a Director of Global Procurement. Our client is a highly regarded brand in the home remodeling sector, operating across numerous markets. Established in 2006, the company has grown to employ around 3,000 individuals and has achieved sales nearing $1 billion. They specialize in providing a seamless home remodeling experience, focusing on areas such as shower, bath, window, and door replacements.

Role Summary:

The Director of Global Procurement will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for assembling a team of sourcing professionals, including both direct and indirect sourcing category managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure a diverse range of materials, including acrylic components, shower bases, flooring, vanities, and faucets.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive commodity strategies.
  • Identify and cultivate new supplier relationships while enhancing existing partnerships.
  • Achieve year-over-year cost reductions for raw materials.
  • Establish Value Analysis and Value Engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Quality team to minimize costs associated with quality and evaluate new suppliers.
  • Gain a deep understanding of corporate objectives to effectively communicate the company's vision to suppliers.
  • Stay informed on market trends through engagement with regional suppliers and industry experts, and relay new technologies and solutions to the Global Sourcing team.
  • Formulate and enforce procurement policies and procedures.
  • Manage material cost fluctuations and savings tracking, overseeing working capital management.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring supply chain reliability and profitability.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage contract systems effectively.
  • Assist in maintaining material and vendor master data, ensuring accuracy and cleanliness in collaboration with global teams.
  • Work with the indirect sourcing team to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee supplier performance through scorecard assessments.
  • Possess extensive experience in risk mitigation strategies, such as reducing single-source dependencies.
  • Expected travel is approximately 10% annually.
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with relevant standards.

Key performance indicators will include the reduction of total material costs, the identification and onboarding of reliable suppliers, and the strengthening of existing supplier relationships. The role's success will be measured by the ability to contribute to the development of the company's supply chain strategy, achieve cost reductions, and establish long-term procurement policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; technical or business/supply chain focus preferred; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of sourcing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience in sourcing from Asia is essential.
  • Familiarity with sourcing/supply chain management in commodities such as acrylics, vanities, and flooring is preferred.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing commodity strategies.
  • Experience in managing material cost fluctuations and savings tracking.
  • Proficient in contract negotiation and contract management systems.
  • Experience in indirect sourcing, including packaging and corporate services.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and relevant software tools.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Must possess a valid smartphone or smart device for secure access to company systems.

Work Environment:

  • The standard workweek is Monday to Friday, with responsibilities both in-office and in the field.
  • Ability to sit and use office equipment for extended periods is required.
  • Work is conducted in a controlled indoor environment with standard office noise levels.
  • Must be able to drive to various job sites as needed.
  • Maintaining a valid driver's license and insurance under company policy is necessary.
