Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer III to join our team at the Denton State Supported Living Center. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our residents, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and respond to emergencies and security violations
  • Conduct routine patrols of buildings and grounds, identifying and addressing potential security risks
  • Assist in the apprehension of suspects and prepare timely and accurate documentation of incidents
  • Train and mentor new security officers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively
  • Participate in mandatory training and professional development to maintain job competence and stay up-to-date on the latest security protocols and procedures
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of building security, surveillance equipment, and alarm devices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations
  • Ability to patrol grounds, detect danger, and take appropriate action
  • Physical ability to walk extensively, run occasionally, and assist in restraining during an emergency
  • Ability to drive a state vehicle and prepare concise reports
