Job Title: Adjunct - GED/ABE/ESL

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adjunct Instructor to teach Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) courses at Lee College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to adult learners, developing curriculum, and assessing student progress.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach ABE, GED, and ESL courses to adult learners, using a variety of effective methodologies and materials.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with Texas Adult Education and Literacy Content standards.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students.
  • Assist students with registration, orientation, and assessment.
  • Advise students on academic and career issues.
  • Participate in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and stay current with developments in the field.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One year of teaching experience required.
  • Experience with curriculum development and adult education.
  • Knowledge of instructional methods in Andragogy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity toward students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Texas Teaching Certificate.
  • Teaching experience working with adult students in a multi-level setting.
  • Experience working with a diverse population.
