Job Title: Mental Health Specialist II

Rutgers The State University is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist II to join our team at the Lifeline National Backup Center within Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare.

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Specialist II will provide critical support to clients in need, utilizing their expertise in crisis intervention and mental health services. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients via phone, chat, and text
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized support plans
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Facilitate structured skill trainings and workshops on mental health topics
  • Advocate for clients and third parties to access necessary resources
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Four (4) years of full-time paid experience in a mental health or human service field
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant mental health or human service field
  • Strong knowledge of mental health principles and crisis intervention techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
