Position Overview
The psychologist will conduct Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans submitting disability claims related to mental health issues such as PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and eating disorders through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health evaluations will include assessments and medical opinions, but will not involve treatment plans or follow-up care.
- Work Environment: Hybrid model, primarily telehealth from home with occasional in-person consultations.
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Compensation: This role is classified under a Service Contract Act (SCA), with an hourly wage of $54.21, plus an additional health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.23 per hour, totaling $58.44/hour or approximately $121,555 annually.
Qualifications Required:
- Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited institution.
- Licensure: Must possess an active, current, and unrestricted psychologist license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough mental health evaluations for conditions such as PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, MST, and eating disorders.
- Provide expert medical opinions for mental health claims.
- Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations.
- Perform standard outpatient assessments and evaluations.
- Engage in peer consultations, staff meetings, and professional training.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management.
