Position Summary: We are in search of a proficient and seasoned Senior Logistics Specialist in Mt. Juliet, TN. This temporary position provides a remarkable opportunity to transition into a permanent role based on performance. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in collaborating with third-party logistics or transportation firms, managing purchase orders, work orders, and overseeing shipment and inventory tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily logistics functions, including shipping, receiving, and inventory oversight.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers and transportation companies to handle inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Negotiate transportation rates with carriers and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Accurately process purchase orders and work orders.
  • Monitor shipments and inventory levels to guarantee timely delivery and product availability.
  • Develop and implement strategies aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing operational costs.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to logistics operations.
  • Prepare and present logistics performance reports to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, particularly in third-party logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems.
