Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Film Slitter Operator to join our Operations team at PPC Flexible Packaging.

This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all slitter equipment functions to produce high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure product quality and safety by following company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Be familiar with safety devices on the slitters.
  • Read and interpret job jackets.
  • Operate and understand all aspects of the slitters.
  • Set up and operate the RADIUS system.
  • Complete job checkout and line clearance forms.
  • Load and position empty cores on rewind shafts.
  • Operate the edge guide, impression, and footage counters.
  • Operate tension controls.
  • Learn proper splicing techniques.
  • Weigh finish rolls accurately.
  • Properly use colored poly bags.
  • Properly operate the core cutter.
  • Pull samples for QA Lab.
  • Operate the label computer.
  • Complete roll core tags and waste tickets.
  • Monitor quality of material being produced.
  • Follow GMP's to avoid product contamination.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean.
  • Perform operator-assigned preventative maintenance.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Understand scheduling board and scheduling cards.
  • Troubleshoot as necessary.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

PPE Required: Hairnet, Cut Resistant Gloves, Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes (Steel Toed)

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.

Training: New employees receive a minimum of two weeks of OJT working with individual(s) assigned to the position.
