Job Title: Ultrasound Tech, Weekends

Job Summary:

Samaritan Healthcare is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Tech to join our team on weekends. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams, collaborating with radiologists and physicians, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, venous, and carotid Doppler, and small parts ultrasound exams
  • Consult with radiologists as needed
  • Transport patients and maintain supplies
  • Perform and archive proper paperwork for exams
  • Respond to patient needs and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations
  • Ensure safe work practices and policies are followed

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a fully accredited Sonography program
  • One year of acute care Ultrasound Technologist experience
  • One American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registry in either Abdomen or OB/GYN or ARDMS eligible
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three months of hire

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Good reading eyesight
  • Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information

Competencies:

  • Demonstrates competency on equipment listed on department-specific checklist
  • Critical thinking skills: seeks resources for direction, performs independent problem-solving, and exercises safe judgment
  • Performs actions that demonstrate accountability and practices within legal and ethical guidelines
