Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Electrical Inspector to join our team at the Idaho Division of Human Resources. As an Electrical Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring public safety and consumer protection by conducting inspections and reviews of electrical activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections or reviews of electrical activities to determine compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and laws.
- Provide technical advice and corrective actions to ensure safety standards are met.
- Oversee the implementation of safety codes, regulations, and laws related to electrical activities.
- Conduct on-site inspections, investigate complaints, and seek compliance with regulations and safety standards.
- Prepare and assemble background information and documentation regarding noncompliance activities, code violations, safety reviews, and licensure discrepancies.
- Provide technical expertise to building officials, building representatives, contractors, and the public.
- Assist management and legal staff in addressing violations and testifying in court or administrative hearings.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Licensure in Idaho as a Journeyman Electrician and at least four years' experience as a Journeyman Electrician in accordance with Idaho Code, Section.
- Experience interpreting building diagrams, plans, and specifications.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare written reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous certification as an Electrical Inspector is not required but may improve your standing as an applicant. The successful candidate will be required to obtain certification through the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses within six months of hire.
