Your Contribution to the Team

Position Overview:

The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesiologists in the placement of patient monitoring lines and in challenging intubation scenarios, along with assisting in various invasive and non-invasive procedures as necessary. This role includes the responsibility for the maintenance, ordering, and inventory of anesthesia supplies and equipment, as well as performing first-line equipment maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting. The technician collaborates closely with the Anesthesia team, the Operating Room Manager, and Biomedical Engineering to ensure that all equipment and supplies are up to date, readily available, well-maintained, and sanitized.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to work independently
  • Must obtain Anesthesia Technician Certification within 9 months of hire
  • Must possess Anesthesia Technician Certification or be currently enrolled in an Anesthesia Tech program and achieve certification within 9 months of hire
  • Possession of an Associate of Science Degree in Anesthesia Technology is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in a Level I Trauma Center or a high-paced Operating Room environment
  • Basic mathematical skills for quick and accurate calculations
  • Willingness to rotate shifts, be on call, and work weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • A minimum of one year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician (or related role) in a fast-paced Operating Room setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an Anesthesia Technology or similar clinical training program
  • Familiarity with medical software systems

Licenses and Certifications:

  • BLS Certification
  • ANESTECH Certification
