Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technician is tasked with conducting thorough mechanical and visual evaluations to assess the quality of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at critical stages throughout the production cycle, with a particular emphasis on cross-sectional analysis. This role involves executing all inspection-related duties as directed by the Quality Control Supervisor or Manager, adhering strictly to established work protocols, IPC standards, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and Handling: Ensure accuracy of traveler documentation and panel counts, perform necessary cleaning of panels, and initiate the Ionograph equipment. A strong mechanical aptitude and keen eyesight are essential for effective section preparation and evaluation.

Inspection Duties: Carry out inspections of boards for compliance with part numbers and revision letters, identify recurring defects, verify UL markings and codes, assess material type and thickness, measure line widths and air gaps, evaluate image and plating quality, and check for missing or additional holes, hole dimensions, wall quality, registration, tin strip, adhesion, solder quality, solder mask, legends, and other mechanical specifications in accordance with the relevant work instructions.

Documentation: Accurately complete Process Travelers, Final Inspection logs, and certificates, perform data entry tasks, and acquire skills to generate First Article Reports.

  • Basic computer literacy is required.
  • Familiarity with hand tools such as calipers and micrometers is necessary.
  • Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings is required.
  • Capability to package boards for shipping is essential.
  • Must be able to complete First Article Reports.

Education and Training Requirements:

  • Completion of Advanced Circuits Orientation.
  • Successful completion of the QC Certification Test and Audit.

Training Duration: 2 to 4 weeks.
