We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our Critical Care team at Bryan Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to critically ill patients, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate and manage respiratory therapy and diagnostic procedures, including ventilator management and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV).
- Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans based on patient assessment and physician orders.
- Monitor and administer respiratory care modalities, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and bronchodilator therapy.
- Assist with emergency resuscitation, including intubations, rapid sequence intubations (RSI), and airway management.
- Perform airway management procedures, including tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube changes, and other tracheostomy procedures.
- Supervise airway maintenance during intra-facility patient transport.
- Initiate hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial line catheter insertion and maintenance.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care modalities and techniques.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
- Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) program of Respiratory Care.
- Licensed to practice respiratory care in the state of Nebraska.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Active Adult Critical Care Specialist (RRT-ACCS) and/or Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialty (RRT-NPS) certification.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
