Fleet Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at Knight Transportation. As a critical front-line role, you will be responsible for providing rapid and proper repairs to our company and retail customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain heavy trucks and trailers (semi-class 8)
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, HVAC, and electrical systems
  • Diagnose and repair minor to complex issues with all types of equipment
  • Perform tire maintenance and repairs
  • May be required to test drive equipment if CDL certified
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in diesel mechanics/technicians
  • Diploma in vehicle maintenance from vocational or trade school (a plus)
  • Excellent customer service and computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Pass a lifetime background check and pre-employment drug screen (hair)
